Marshall, North Carolina
Located right on the
beautiful
French Broad River, Marshall
NC, the county seat of Madison County, is
one of the most picturesque villages in all of Western North Carolina. The
village has a rich history wit h the Buncombe County Turnpike passing
through it colonial days, as the location of notorious Civil War events,
and as the hub of Madison County commerce for many years. A fun
place to visit, Marshall, like other true mountain towns, retains
much of its past and is like stepping back into time. There is a good selection
of stores and restaurants, an historic 1906 Neo-Classical Revival courthouse, and Marshall’s location along the river is
a great jumping-off place to further adventures, including
Whitewater Rafting on
the river.
