Beech Mountain, North Carolina
The town of Beech Mountain NC, originally begun as a private resort
development in the mid 1960's and incorporated in 1981, is today
known for its world-famous ski resort,
Beech Mountain Resort,
as well as its
cool summer weather where temperatures rarely get above 72
degrees. Located in the northeast section of the Western North
Carolina mountains, upscale Beech Mountain is the highest in
elevation of all towns in the northeastern United States at 5,506
feet above sea level. Offering a nice selection of stores and
restaurants, as well as a large choice of outdoor sports, Beech
Mountain is a year-round destination. When October rolls around,
Beech Mountain magically transform into the Land of Oz in their
annual Autumn at Oz Festival,
complete with all your favorite people and places from Frank Baum’s
silver screen classic.
