Western North Carolina Mountains that is largely un-touched
by large city influences. In today's hectic, modern world,
Andrews remains a place that enjoy a more leisurely pace of
life. The city has a thriving downtown with restaurants,
retail shops, bed and breakfast inns, and artists' galleries
and is a great jumping off point for outdoor adventures in
the surrounding mountains. 
The highest elevation near Andrews in Cherokee County is
5,149 feet, near Tusquitee Bald in the Fires Creek area, and
the 466 square mile county encompasses 300,000 acres, with
over 90,000 of those owned by the US Forest Service. Andrews
is also home to the
Andrews Art Museum
run by the Valleytown Cultural Arts and Historical Society.
The museum has rotating exhibits of local and regional
artists. A unique activity in Andrews is the annual
Western North Carolina Wagon Train, where wagon train
enthusiasts annually make the trek from Andrews to Walhalla,
South Carolina in covered wagons and on horseback.
