On the adventurous side,
and interested in seeing the beautiful forests of Western North
Carolina from a different perspective? Then a forest canopy zip line
ride may be for you. This unique experience takes limited
energy to participate, and is not designed to scare but rather
offer a gentle, self-controlled gliding experience. In 2009,
Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours became the first zip line facility in
the mountains, and offers rides during the summer season. Their
rides take you through multiple ecosystems in the Nantahala Gorge
area.
