Interested in seeing the beautiful
mountains and meadows of Western North Carolina from a unique
perspective? Then a hot air balloon ride is for you! Flight times vary but a typical outing is between
45 minutes to an hour in
the air and leave daily from April until January, weather permitting, at
sunrise. The entire process from start to finish, including flight
time takes about 21/2 hours. The balloon floats in the
direction of the wind and can rise from 500 to 2000 feet in the air.
Flights offered by the Asheville Hot Air Balloon company, in
business since 1981 and the only hot air balloon outfit in WNC, are
typically above the countryside west of Asheville and include parts
of the Pisgah National Forest.
