    The Whippoorwill Academy and Village was created by Mrs. Edith Ferguson Carter by moving historical buildings to the family farm many years ago. The complex today features historical museums, including: Tom Dooley Museum, Daniel Boone Replica Cabin, Smokehouse Art Gallery, Matt's Store, Indian Teepee, Jail, School House, Chapel, Tavern, Blacksmith shop and Weaving room.
