Morganton 1916 Railroad Depot

   The Morganton 1916 Railroad Depot was built in 1886, and restored to 1916 appearance in 2004. The Depot is open to the public on Saturdays and features exhibits of original station master and railroad equipment memorabilia and photos from the 19th-20th centuries. The Depot is maintained by the History Museum of Burke County.

Directions: From Asheville take I-40 East to Morganton. Get off at exit 103 onto US 64 towards Morganton. Within one mile turn left at Burkemont Avenue, turn right at West Flemming Drive and then slight left at South Sterling Street. Continue onto South Green Street.
