The Hickory Motor Speedway has been in
operation for over 50 years and is the oldest
professional sporting venue in Catawba County. Hickory Motor
Speedway also stands as the oldest continually operated motor
speedway in the country. Known as the "Birthplace of the
NASCAR Stars" and "The World's Most Famous Short-Track" (the oval is
.363 miles in length) the Hickory stands alone with as an historic
race track.
The Speedway has three fully equipped concession stands, a
souvenir stand, six large restrooms areas, and three enclosed
air-conditioned hospitality suites. There is also a game room and
kid's fenced-in area with a climbing gym and swings. RV parking is
also available.
