    A very popular attraction, Pulitzer Prize winning writer Carl Sandburg’s farm, “Connemara,” is open to the public for visitation. The farm includes 264 acres of rolling hills, forests, lakes, pastures, goat barn, and buildings. Located in Flat Rock, three miles south of Hendersonville, the grounds are open for self-guided tours. Guided tours of the home are also scheduled daily. The goat barn and the many delightful goats are a hit with the kids!

Of Note: National Historic Landmark, listed in the National Register of ¬Historic Places. The Carl Sandburg Festival is held at the home every Memorial Day.

Directions: Connemara is located 3 miles south of Hendersonville in Flat Rock. Take Highway 25 south from Hendersonville and turn right just beyond the Flat Rock Playhouse onto Little River Road.
