In addition to the many professional and amateur dance organizations that grace Asheville with their performances and energy, the city is also visited by a number of touring troupes, and “Folkmoot,” an international dance and folk festival, is held every year in nearby Waynesville.  Ballroom dancing is also popular in Asheville, and every year the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa hosts prestigious ballroom dancing competitions, including the Heritage Classic Dance Sport Championships.
